WW1 soldiers

Trinity Arts is organising a multi media exhibition to mark the centenary of the end of WW1. There will be stories from local people who had family in the war, as well as video, medal displays and much more. See timetable of events here. The event also includes a Flower Festival with 21 sites of flowers, people dressed as WW1 soldiers reading poetry, a screening of the film Journey’s End, a video report from a local school on the scene at the war graves in Europe, and, for the first time, poignant tales of some of those ‘Shot at dawn’, following unique research by a Southport historian. Silhouettes, children’s activities, a police commemoration, food and drink are also featured. There will be a Remembrance Service and laying of the wreaths on the Sunday, and a sing along of war songs to live piano music at our Lunchtime Music on Friday 16 November at 1pm.
